A little while ago I had the pleasure of working with the brand new Carte Postale collection and Capture line of products from Basic Grey. I created a really fun mini album to highlight some special moments from our trip to Washington D.C. last spring. In general I'm not a mini album type of gal, but I have to say putting this album together was super easy using the Capture collection and amazing Carte Postale collection. Here's a look at the cover of my album. It was just plain kraft when I received it so I dressed it up with some patterned papers and a cluster of embellishments in the lower right corner.
The Capture albums come with several different shaped interior pages which made it really fun when it came to designing each page in my album. I loved that some were smaller than others and allowed for the pages behind to peek through and give you a glimpse of what lies ahead.
The colors in the Carte Postale collection are great for all occasions. I was easily able to mix and match color and black and white photos within my album for a cohesive color scheme.
The Carte Postale embellishments are fun and versatile with generic travel themed icons to help you dress up your pages. I especially love the mix of paper and acetate die cuts for even more layering possibilities.
Hands down my favorite embellishment from the Carte Postale collection was the tiny alpha stickers. They are the perfect font and size and can easily be added directly to photos to call out important places. I've already told the good folks at Basic Grey that I NEED them to make these alphas in every color under the sun. Please and thank you
The Capture line of products also comes with a variety of different page protectors to easily house extra photos and embellishments or journaling.
I mixed in a few papers from the Hey You collection as well while creating this album. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well all of the colors worked together especially since I'm one of those matchy matchy type of gals. ;)
I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at my mini album. All this week on the Basic Grey blog they are featuring different projects using these fun new products so be sure to check it out.
Goodies For Sale
Anyone interested in a goodie box of scrapbook supplies? I’m cleaning
out the scrap studio to make some room. Most of it is unused (there
may be a few stickers missing here and there). Cost is $50 which
includes USPS Flat Rate shipping. The boxes are all random, but I’ve
got lots of great companies that may be in there including American
Crafts, Basic Grey, Bella Blvd, Crate Paper, Echo Park, My Mind’s Eye, October
Afternoon, Pebbles, Studio Calico, etc just to name
a few. Please note that not every company will be represented in every box, but just to give you an idea of what product I have.
Nothing really old either – most product is from the last 1-2
years. Embellishments will be included as well - chipboard, stickers,
buttons, jewels, etc.
I am willing to ship internationally as long as you are willing to pay actual shipping costs. In those cases the boxes will cost $38 PLUS actual shipping charges. You can email me with your address and I will give you an approximate idea of shipping if you'd like (be mindful that these boxes are heavy and that shipping cost will reflect that).
I have SEVERAL boxes to sell so if you would like more than one just let me know. Also let me know which companies you are most interested in, if you scrap mostly boys, girls, or both. I can't guarantee everything on your wish list will be in there, but goodness knows I'll try to include as much as I can! ;)
If you’re interested just send me an email at lghahary(at)cevant(dot)com. Thanks! :)

PageMaps - May Layout + VIDEO
Hey all! Today I have both a layout and video to share with you using a brand new sketch by Becky Fleck for the May edition of PageMaps. This month is extra special as Becky is celebrating PageMaps 7th Anniversary. I am using the "On The Border" dies from Becky and Spellbinders for this layout. Be sure to watch the video as I give a few tips on how to create longer border strips using smaller dies.
Here's a look at the sketch that I was given and the layout that I created.
I used the new 24/SEVEN collection by Simple Stories on this layout and it is just a perfect pairing for these photos of my son Darian checking out the view on top of the Empire State Building in NYC. I used four different types of borders on my layout - notebook, pinking, postage stamp, and scallop - in addition to layering my paper strips to really spice things up a bit and add lots of visual interest.
There are tons of fun embellishments included in this collection - layered stickers, chipboard, brads - just to name a few. I put them to work on my layout and created a few layered embellishments clusters for some fun details.
Here's the video I created to go along with this layout ...
There is a fun challenge associated with my layout so be sure to head on over to the PageMaps blog and check it out. Thanks for stopping by!
